South Coast Artists to host open studio tours

On July 16 and 17 and August 20 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., South Coastline Artists will host excursions of neighborhood artist studios in Dartmouth and other neighboring towns.

The tours will characteristic about 75 artists with 15 of them situated in Dartmouth. For a total listing of participating artists and a map of their studios, see the hooked up brochure.

The Dartmouth-dependent artists include things like:

Robert Abele III, an oil painter specializing in plein-air landscapes of New England. His studio is located at 25 Robert St.

Genevieve Hunt, a watercolor and pastel artist specializing in New England land and seascapes. Her studio is located at 8 Sunset Lane.

Kim M Barry, an oil painter and potter whose works include plein-air and even now life paintings as well as pottery and tiles. Her studio, Kim Barry Painter/ Clay Trout Pottery, is also found at 8 Sunset Lane.

John P Powel, an oil painter whose fashion is explained as “imaginative realism.” His studio, Yellow Boat Studio, is found at 1167 Russells Mills Highway.

Amy Thurber, a ceramic artist featuring pottery inspired by the back garden. Her studio, Doves Foot Pottery, is positioned at 219 Horseneck Highway.

Martin Wooden, an acrylic painter specializing in impressionism and expressionism. His studio, artwork-by-mart, is found at 13 Horseneck Road.
