Open studio party returns to White Rock and South Surrey

Paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolour, and combined media, jewellery, ceramics, mosaic, glasswork, sculpture, and turned wood – there must be something for just about every single inventive flavor in the 2023 edition of the South Rock Art Tour this weekend (Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24).

In partnership with the Semiahmoo Arts Modern society, an exhibit sampling work from all the collaborating artists and artisans will have a community opening reception at the Turnbull Gallery, South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre, 14601 20 Ave., tonight (Sept. 21) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (operates continue being on show at the gallery right up until Sept. 24).

Some 32 artists and artisans residing in and/or doing the job in White Rock, Ocean Park, Crescent Beach front and South Surrey will be aspect of the open up studio art tour.

This year’s tour delivers a multitude of highlights, organizer Sylvie Peltier said.

In addition to her individual wheel-thrown stoneware, Adele Samphire will be exhibiting pieces by her late husband, and famed ceramic artist Sid, whilst their daughter, mentioned glass artist Lisa Samphire has a new batch of blown-glass back garden stakes in new colour combos.

Oil and acrylic artist Carla Maskall will expose a massive portray of the White Rock Pier and have her textbooks (such as What The Seal Saw) for sale, even though pottery and mosaic artist Constance Glover has embarked on a series of backyard sculptures.
