Deaf Actor James Caverly Will Be Harold Hill in Olney Theatre Center’s The Songs Person

Deaf actor James Caverly, who performs Theo Dimas in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Setting up, will be Harold Hill in the Olney Theatre Center’s summer months production of Meredith Willson’s Tony-profitable musical The New music Male, which will perform the Maryland venue June 17-July 24 with an formal opening June 23.

Caverly was an aspiring actor—and a staff members carpenter in Olney Theatre’s scene shop—when he noticed Deaf West’s 2015 production of Spring Awakening on Broadway. A revival of The Music Gentleman—starring current Tony nominees Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster—currently performs Broadway’s Winter Backyard garden Theatre.
